Inverter FAQs

  1. The mounting surface must be sturdy enough to support the inverter weight long-term.
  2. Install in a well-ventilated area with ambient temperature below 50°C.
  3. Avoid direct sunlight, rain and snow for optimal performance.
  4. Do not install in areas easily accessible to the public — the chassis becomes hot during operation.
  5. Ensure sufficient clearance around the unit for installation, maintenance and heat dissipation.
  • Install vertically upright only.
  • Do not lay flat — this impairs cooling and may cause damage.
  • Do not tilt backward or install inverted.
  1. Label all cables clearly before connection to reduce errors.
  2. Before connecting, use a multimeter to measure the positive and negative input voltages of the array — confirm correct polarity and that voltage does not exceed the maximum input.
  3. Use dedicated PV connector crimping tools.
  4. Where possible, use a thermal camera or infrared thermometer to check connector temperatures after grid-connection begins.

  2. Seal all unused ports with appropriate plugs.
  3. Close the cable entry cover tightly.
  4. Apply conduit sealant to cable entry points.
  5. Confirm the waterproof cover is fitted and locked.

  1. Weather conditions (cloud cover, low irradiance)
  2. High ambient temperature reducing panel efficiency
  3. Suboptimal panel orientation (not facing solar south/north)
  4. Excessive shading from nearby objects
  5. Incorrect panel tilt angle
  6. Dust or soiling on panel surface
  7. Panel mismatch in the array
  8. Panel output overstated by manufacturer
  9. Grid instability or voltage issues
  10. Inverter fault — check error codes on display

Monitoring interruptions are typically caused by:

  • Weak Wi-Fi or GPRS signal at the installation location
  • Internet service overdue (home broadband subscription lapsed)
  • Router configuration issues or router failure
  • Router overloaded with too many connected devices
  • Loose communication module connector
  • Communication cable mixed with power lines (interference)
  • Faulty communication module
  • Inverter fault — check device display

Battery Storage FAQs

There are 4 EPS modes available:

  • Mode 0 – Disable: EPS function disabled. No backup power output.
  • Mode 1 – EPS without bypass: EPS port provides output only when the grid fails. Recommended for basic backup protection.
  • Mode 2 – EPS with bypass: Includes bypass switching. EPS output available with grid-failover transition.
  • Mode 3 – Advanced: Contact WOWTIGER support for configuration guidance specific to your installation.

WOWTIGER batteries use Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) chemistry, which provides:

  • 6,000+ charge cycles at 80% depth of discharge before reaching 80% of original capacity
  • 10–15 year typical real-world lifespan under normal operating conditions
  • Superior thermal stability compared to NMC batteries — reduced risk of thermal runaway

For maximum longevity, avoid consistently charging to 100% or discharging below 10% state-of-charge.

🔌 Electrical Safety First

  • Always disconnect DC isolator before connecting cables
  • Verify polarity with a multimeter before energising
  • Never work on live AC circuits without proper isolation
  • Use insulated tools rated for the system voltage

📍 Siting & Mounting

  • Mount on solid, load-bearing wall or frame
  • Maintain minimum 200mm clearance on all sides for airflow
  • Avoid damp rooms, direct sunlight or dusty environments
  • Install at a height that allows easy display reading

☀️ Solar Array Design

  • Match panel Voc to inverter MPPT voltage range
  • Avoid mixing different panel makes or ages in one string
  • Orient panels within 45° of true south (northern hemisphere)
  • Minimise shading from 9am–3pm solar time

🔋 Battery Connection

  • Use the manufacturer-specified battery communication cable
  • Connect battery BMS communication before closing DC breaker
  • Ensure battery voltage matches inverter battery input range
  • Balance all parallel battery modules before first charge
